We also offer special year round rates of $12.50 per day for a dry
mare, and $14.50 for nursing mares. When the baby is weaned, the mare goes
back to $12.50 and the baby goes to $11.50.
When the baby becomes a yearling, the rate is $12.50 per day.
Services Include:
24 hour monitoring
Night watchman from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Large 16 x 16 foaling stalls
12 x 24 stalls for babies to be in on bad weather days, awaiting shipment
Video Surveillance in all foaling stalls, monitored from the house and barn
office
Veterinarian on call and only minutes away at all times
Umbilical cord care (naval dipped with Iodine solution for the
first 3 days)
Enema administered to foal to decrease risk of meconium impaction
Newborn foal and postpartum mare examinations by the vet
Tetanus Antitoxin administered to the foal at time of birth
5 cc
Penicillin administered to the foal at time of birth
Paste to prevent Ecoli administered at birth
50 cc
IgG administered orally to each foal at time of birth
8 hours after the delivery, the vets routinely administer Rhodococcus Plasma to
each baby, with a second dose to follow in 3 weeks.
