Check these little guys out!!! They were born 03-26-07. We had no idea she was going to have twins! She wasn't especially big, but when the first one (the little girl) came out, I knew it would be twins. Then about 13 minutes later, here came the little boy. He was so skinny and so tiny, we didn't have any idea he would ever take a breath, then before we knew it, he did, and the rest is history. He's growing so fast that we're having to put a brace on his front leg part of the day. It keeps wanting to bow out on him a little bit, but the vet says it's just that he's growing so fast and gaining so fast that his tiny little legs and tendons just aren't strong enough yet to hold all the weight. But he assures me he'll be just fine. Wish me luck with them - it'll be the first successful twins we've ever been involved with if they keep going like they're going. We sure have an excellent start.
Here you can see just how tiny and thin they were when they were born. They were in separate placentas, separate ovulations.
That's a pile of babies right there! As soon as we took the picture, we had to move the little girl off of the little boy - he couldn't breathe with her on top of him!! The mom liked them stacked this way - she could keep up with both of them, -- something that hasn't been easy for her since the first day!
Here they are sporting the lastest in the spring line of HunterCreek Equine InfantWare!
I don't care who you are, you can't look at this picture without saying, "Awwwww"....
Here they are on their first outing out of the stall at 3 days old, with their proud owner, Larry Christesson, formerly of Roswell, NM, now from Pecos, TX. |
